Hello Autumn 2016 Photoshoot | ♥

So, it’s been over a year since I last uploaded a post onto this blog, I know, disappointing, right? In my last post, I spoke about everything I loved about autumn and created a to do list full of autumnal things. I managed to complete absolutely none of them and haven’t uploaded since.
I had many ideas floating around in my head, different blog post ideas, but every time I started to write one, I gave up, I wasn’t feeling it at all.
I went away to the USA in May for my sister in law’s sister’s wedding, my first trip outside of the UK in about 11 years. Perfect opportunity for a blog post, right? But nope, I just couldn’t get it to go how I wanted it to. So, I gave up for a few more months to try and figure out what I wanted to do.
Now here we are, autumn 2016. I haven’t created a to do list this year because I just knew that I wouldn’t be able to complete anything, what with work and other things. But for a few months now I’d wanted to get back into photography. I hadn’t used my SLR for such a long time and I felt like it was just a waste having it sat in its bag for months on end. Photography and autumn, what a wonderful combination, lets create something with this idea I thought.
2 years ago, I did a photo shoot with Joe and Harriet in the park (also during autumn) and I was quite pleased with the outcome, so I thought I’d repeat this and see if I had improved at all. Harriet joined me and was my wonderful model for the day, and Harriet is very good at make up so she looked lovely as ever.
The park in autumn is such a beautiful place, so many different colours floating around, brown, orange and green being the main ones. The ground was full of leaves, but the trees still felt like they were full of them too, so many leaves all over the place. The sun was shining most of the day which made everything better, it was nippy that day so a little bit of sun was needed (it also makes my photography look better hehe).
The trees that didn’t have leaves on were a perfect spot to take some photos, it’s what autumn’s all about, leaves falling off the trees and creating a beautiful carpet on the floor.
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I feel like here in the UK it’s been a colder autumn than last year. I feel like I’ve had to whip out the winter coat a lot earlier than I have done before, but then again it is November now, Christmas will be here before you know it (I’m so excited, I love Christmas).

I associate many things with autumn, the main things being conkers, browning leaves, hot chocolates, cosying up on the sofa with a blanket and a good film (with the hot chocolate) and you can’t forget Halloween. I’ve never been good at Halloween; I wish I was more interested in it. I would love to dress up and create a wonderful masterpiece on my face from make-up but it usually ends up going horribly wrong. This year me and some friends went to the Kiss Haunted House gig at Wembley Arena, watching the likes of Tinie Tempah, Charli XCX, Clean Bandit and the one and only Craig David <3. I wanted to go as something, but I chickened out and just did some red/orange eyes and pretended that was my costume. Maybe next year I’ll go all out!
This is the time of the year where coffee companies like Costa and Starbucks etc. start to bring out their limited-edition Christmas menus. Last year I was truly disappointed with the options, no mint hot chocolate and no orange hot chocolate, what a disgrace. But this year, Costa have completely become the greatest company on earth, adding both orange AND mint hot chocolate to their menus, and I am so grateful to them. I will be surprised if I don’t have one nearly every day until they’re taken off again. I can’t wait to walk round London with one in my hands.
I am happy with the outcome of this photo shoot; I feel like I have improved slightly even after not doing anything like this for an extremely long time. I would love to carry on doing photography as a little hobby, it gets me out and about and allows me to be creative in my own way. You never know, maybe there will be a few more posts from me from now on (I hope so, although I know I’m useless). It was a very simple shoot, but sometimes I feel like that it better.
I know this post was random, but I wanted to show you some of my photography as well as giving you an insight as to why I love love love autumn. I do hope I’m back here writing more and showing you more of my photography as well as a few different kinds of posts, next year it’ll 100% be my goal to create something at least once a month.
Also, thank you to Harriet for being an angel and being my model for this shoot<3
Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it.
See you next time,
Vic xox
