Yet another trip to London | ♥
I can't believe I haven't posted on this blog for about 3 months, I'm so disappointed in myself. I had quite a few different ideas but managed to complete absolutely none of them. I started one to round up every thing that had happened in 2014, but I felt like I was rambling on way too much and gave up with that idea.
Anyway, I'm back now and I've got more pictures to share with you all woo! (like anyone actually reads this ha).
So it seems to be that I spend a lot of my time in London, I honestly can't count the amount of times myself and my friends went there during the festive period, Winter Wonderland was literally my home. (I had another blog post planned about Winter Wonderland but I hardly took any pictures so I gave up.)
Anyway, on Wednesday the 14th, me, Joe and Harriet decided we'd go and be tourists again. Joe is literally my right hand man when it comes to London adventures nowadays (sorry Rachel, you became a working girl).
I thought I'd change up how I took my photos on this trip, so instead of carrying round my big SLR, I decided I would use my last disposable camera that I had lying around, as well as using my iPhone. This was also because I couldn't be bothered with my SLR as it meant taking a bigger bag - damn, I really am so lazy!
So we started off the trip with a stop off at Burger King in Waterloo Station, before taking our lunch out by the London Eye. It was cold and windy but the sky was beautiful and the Eye looked rather dashing in my photos because of the funky clouds behind it. We were joined by some pigeons because Joe and Harriet thought it would be a fantastic idea to throw some food to one of them... which turned from there being just one pigeon, to there being a lot of pigeons - my absolute worst nightmare.
We also walked along Southbank towards Big Ben and over Westminster Bridge, where there was a 'security operation' taking place, so there were police officers with massive guns and all the protective gear, which kind of worried me. Our aim was to walk to Buckingham Palace, but instead we walked towards Westminster Abbey which was very short lived as there was so much going on we decided to turn around and just head to see Liz!
Instead of walking the boring way down The Mall to Buckingham we decided to cut through to Horse Guards Parade where we stopped to take some pictures and a few selfies!
Anyway, to continue the exciting journey we still kept away from The Mall and chose to walk through St James' Park which was a great choice in my opinion. We saw ducks and squirrels and even a heron... or Pelican if you're me, which was exciting, not that we don't see ducks or squirrels quite a lot but still. It's always nicer to walk through places that have nice scenery, as we could stop off when we wanted to take pictures or just look at random things, instead of being stuck on a main road just watching cars drive past.
So many squirrel pictures whoops, but look how cute the little thing is awwww!
We then made it to Buckingham Palace, hooray! What I realised when we eventually got there was that it's not really a nice place to cross over to, we had to climb over some railings, trying not to fall into the on coming traffic, then make it over to the other side.
After we went to see Liz at her crib, we then walked to normal way back to Trafalgar Square, down The Mall. We didn't do a lot here, we just sat for a bit, took a few pictures, then Harriet decided she wanted a Costa, which is no surprise to be honest. So we searched for the nearest Costa and headed there for a drink.
When Harriet got her drink and I got my Iced Lemonade, and after Harriet decided to stop dribbling over Paul (ha), we headed back to one of the bridges (Hungerford maybe?) to take us back to Southbank, where we sat for a bit to try and miss the lovely rush hour that we'd stumbled into. The lovely trip ended with us on the train back feeling good because we all managed to get a seat on the very busy train, woooop!
Anyway, that's it. Finally I have managed to post again after many months... I guess you could maybe figure out which images were taken on my phone, and which were taken on the disposable camera.. and some of my phone images were edited on an app, and some weren't, I got a bit lazy which isn't a surprise. But hey, it's nice to see the original images I guess?
