Down by the River | ♥

Hey hey.
The other day, after leaving Beth so she could work, myself, Joe, Harriet and Sarah all went on a trip down to the river for some lunch. And as it was a beautiful day, we wanted to take advantage of the weather, so we sat in the shade.
Harriet had bought a hat beforehand, which she was super excited about, so she decided to be my wonderful model for a completely random photo-shoot we decided to do.

 I am someone that hardly uses the 'manual focus' option on my lens, as I can never tell whether the image is focused correctly or not, but I decided to practice with it today to see how the images would turn out. And to be honest, I feel that images that have been manually focused come out a lot better than auto focused ones. I also used the manual setting on my camera to see if it worked better with the sun, and it did. Woowoo. 






Along with the photo-shoot, we also saw some swans and a dead fish even floated over to us, beautiful. Overall, the day was lovely and I had fabulous company aw.

Day trip to Brightonnnnnn!

Today I went to Brighton for a day trip with the school, I mean, a free trip to Brighton for year 12 students, why not? Anyway, me and my chums had a fab time in the sun. We went for a quick shop, down to the beach and to the pier to get some fish and chips, for a look on the pier and in the arcade, and then back to the beach for a relaxing sunbathe.  Some of my pictures that I took from this trip. Magazine Shoot

These three images I have taken were from my final shoot for my photography project. I had to create a front page of a magazine focusing on beauty or fashion. I went more for the beauty look as I enjoy using make up and trying different styles out on different people. For this shoot, I went for a golden/black look, as I wanted it to look quite glamorous and pretty as I was relating back to a Harper's Bazaar cover.  Out of all the images I took, I picked four to manipulate and put into my book, and these are three of them. I decided that the other didn't look as nice and was a bit strange looking, so I've left that one out :) I'm really happy with these images to be honest, and the two I decided to use for my final pieces were the first two, one with my model's eyes open and the other with them close, just to spice it up a bit! :) :) xx

Golden Globes 2014

One of my favourite things about award ceremonies are the outfits, looking at each celebrity and what they're wearing. There are some beautiful dresses worn, and some not so beautiful dresses worn, and there are also some very handsome men in suits. Whilst looking through different pictures from the 2014 Golden Globes, I decided to pick out my favourite outfits that I saw on both the women and the men.  Here are my seven favourite outfits worn by the women of the Golden Globes: Taylor Swift - Carolina Herrera I love the colours of this dress, the pink and black work really well together and I feel that these colours also work well with the skin tone of Taylor. The trail that the dress has gives it that extra bit of elegance and it looks super nice.  Amy Adams - Valentino I love, love, love this dress.
